it’s official

I am now an employee of Wal-Mart. I go in Monday from 10A-4P for training. My brother got hired too. He cheated on his drug test, but I guess everybody does it. When I got hired at Beaulieu, I was the only person out of that entire group that got hired that day that passed with their own pee.

Wayne came to get Gracie today. The dumbass rode his bicycle all the way down here! Like I was going to let him ride my child that far in trafic on a damn bicycle. I swear, he gets more stupid every time I see him! He ended up calling his cousin to come by here and pick them up.

While he was here, he told me that he’s probably moving to Florida with one of his friends to get a job. I forget what kind of job he said. He actually had the nerve to tell me that he would send me money on the side if I didn’t tell the child support people that he had a job. Yeah, right. When he gets a job, I’m going straight to the CS just to piss him off! Of course, him moving to Florida would be better than any money I’d ever get out of him.

There is absolutely nothing to do here. I think I’m going to go insane! There’s nothing on t.v., I’ve read all the books I have about a million times, and I can’t think of anything to do online. I really, really wish I had a life about now. Or at least a good book full of logic problems. I’m so addicted to those things!

I could be sleeping right now, but y’all know me. I’m an insomniac. I get about 3 hours of sleep a night. And that’s not because I don’t want to sleep. I just can’t for some reason. I need a project. I think I’ll go try and come up with something now!

I just noticed that the official website for our lovely town claims that this is the “tidiest town in Tennessee”. Yeah. Sure. Obviously, whoever decided that this was the tidiest town in TN has never been beyond that 3 block stretch of “beautified” main street that is used during the Cornbread Festival.

They have never been down 1st Street, or should I say CrackTown with all the run-down nasty houses and drug dealers. They’ve never been to the roach-infested projects, AKA Hemlock, Prospect, and Midway. I used to live in Hemlock, I know how nasty it is there. Not to mention it’s right across the highway from the sewage treatment plant. It’s damn near impossible to sit on your porch on a hot summer night there. At least not without barfing all over the place.

I’m lucky now. I live in Richard City where people actually mow their yards and pick up their garbage. My dad lives in “The Holler” at the foot of the mountain. It’s pretty nice there. There wouldn’t be much trash lying around there if the people that have kids in the daycare center wouldn’t clean out their cars and throw all of the stuff in our yard. He told me once that living their makes him feel like he’s moved a step up in the world. “We used to live East of Hemlock, now we live North of 1st Street. We’re movin’ on up!” My dad is such a character!

WOO HOO!

The entry I posted before this one has been sitting on this computer, open and waiting for me to hit the publish button. Why? Because I had to leave, and in the excitement, I forgot all about it! I got another job! I’m so happy.

I was working on that entry when the phone rang. I went to the living room to answer it, because the phone in here doesn’t work right. It was from Wal-Mart. My brother put in an application there this morning, and they were calling him in for an interview. He wasn’t here, so I took a message. I told the lady that if I knew they were hiring, I would’ve put in an application. She said “Can you come in for an interview?” I asked her when, and she said right now. So, I went, and if I pass my drug test tomorrow, I’ll be a Wal-Mart associate.

Of course I’m going to pass my drug test, I don’t do drugs! She told me to tell my brother to come in for an interview in the morning. He’s definitely not going to pass his drug test, unless he gets somebody to pee for him. I hope he can cheat it somehow, though. Because if he gets a job, he’ll stop bumming money off of me!

The job is 3rd shift stocker, and it’s only temporary. I was told that if I do a good job, they’ll find somewhere to keep me on permanently. So, I’m going to keep the job I have for this three months, and see what happens. Two incomes are better than one, right? I only work about 12 hours a week at my job now, so everything should be okay.
