Yeah, like I need another hobby.

I knit. I crochet. Sometimes I even cross stitch (but not often). That should be enough to keep anyone busy, right? Apparently not, because now I have the urge to do something else.

Now, I want to sew. More specifically, I want to sew one of these. It’s the Pointy Kitty from Wee Wonderfuls, and it has to be one of the most adorable things I’ve ever seen. I’m thinking camo fabric – because that’s all I have. I don’t remember what exactly I bought it for, but it’ll be perfect.

I’ll get started on that as soon as I finish a few of my current projects. The amigurumi thing has to be done in 2 weeks, and I should probably finish Macie’s blanket before she’s too big for it. I have two pairs of socks on the needles, too, but they’re for me, so I don’t really have a deadline. I’ll post pictures of my works in progress whenever I remember to buy batteries for my camera!

Catching Up

Since there is such a big gap in my posts, I guess I should mention some of the things that happened in the year and a half that’s missing.

1. My mom died of pancreatic cancer on August 31, 2005.

2. The girls dad and I started seeing eachother again. That didn’t last long.

3. My epilepsy is getting worse. I’ve went from about 1 seizure a year to 8 in the past year, and 5 of those in the past 2 months. I haven’t found out why yet.

4. I finally found a job. It’s just fast food, but I need something flexible like that. And, the people I work with are great, so I’m happy with it.

5. We got a place of our own in April of this year. No more living with my dad – Hooray! I love my dad, but I’m way too old to still be at home.

That’s about all I can think of right now. I just got home from work, and I’m a little tired. If I think of anything else, I’ll add it later.

That took forever

I imported all of the entries from my old blog – all 400 and something of them. Boy, did that take forever! The file was so big that it kept timing out and I’d have to do it all over again. But at least they’re all here now. There’s a big gap between Jan. 05 and now because I haven’t imported the entries from my assumed name blog. I may pick some of the better ones and put them on here (like my crafting posts), but most of them were just fluff. I was trying to be all happy-go-lucky all of the time, so I didn’t post much of what I wanted to.

And now, I must go wash the dishes before I go to bed. I have a lot to do tomorrow, and I can’t avoid them anymore. Oh, how I miss the dishwasher!

Hooray Electricity!

The power finally came back on at about 5:05. Yay! The longer we went without electricity, the hotter it got, and we were all getting a little grumpy. But now the air conditioner is doing it’s thing and everyone is feeling better. And to think that just 4 years ago we were living in a house with no a/c, and I was pregnant with Arien, but it never bothered me. I was used to it then, I guess. Or maybe I’m just getting wimpy.

It’s getting hot in here

Okay, so it’s been hot in here. Our electricity has been off since before 8 AM, and I have no idea why. I called the electric company for an explanation, but all I got was, “They’re still out there working on it, but it probably won’t be back on until 5 O’clock or later.”

Fuck. Well, at least I have my laptop and dial-up. Until the battery dies, that is. According to the battery monitor thingy, I have 41 minutes left. Of course, I could be cleaning but it’s way too hot in here for that.

Maybe I’ll crochet a little. I’m working on two crochet projects right now – a round ripple blanket for my new niece, and an amigurumi cat (or bunny, haven’t decided yet) for Gracie’s birthday. For the cat / bunny, I’m using the Amigurumi Dude pattern form Crochet Me. I’ve finished the head and body, and I’m sure the arms and legs won’t take too long. I’m planning on knitting a little cheerleader-like dress out of some orange and black sock yarn for it to wear. You see, this is Gracie’s first year cheering, and she’s very into it. Having a stuffed animal with a cheerleading uniform would just tickle her pink. And, she loves it when I make things for her.

Uh-oh. My battery only has 27 minutes of life left in it. I can’t believe it took me tha long to write this. I guess I should probably go find something to do now.

I’ve been blogging for a while. Since 2002, actually. I used to be really into it – I had my own domain name and everything. Then it all went wrong. I got a stalker, and I just couldn’t take his / her abuse anymore (I’m not sure who it was, but I have a pretty good idea.), so I moved my blog, started using different names and everything. Blogging just lost it’s appeal after that. I felt like I was writing a lie, so I just stopped all together.

Lately I’ve had the urge to blog, but I want to do it as me, not someone else. So, here I am. Hi. I’m Sabrina.
