so slow

Have I mentioned how much I miss DSL? Well, I do. Dial-up just sucks.

I finally finished something! It’s just a dishcloth, but at least I got it done.

And here’s the proof of progress on my German flag sock. Ignore the gaping hole at the heel. I know how to avoid that, I guess I was just to lazy to do it at the time.

scok progress 1

I’m so tired. It’s after 4 AM, and I know I really should be in bed by now. In fact, that’s where I’m going as soon as I post this. I’m just glad I don’t have to work tomorrow!

My house is (somewhat) clean. Yay!

I’ve been so busy with work and various other things that my housework has fallen way behind, but I just spent the evening giving my house a much-needed overhaul. I tackled the living room, kitchen, and bathroom and did everything but mop. It looks so much better in here now.

The kitchen was by far the nastiest. I think every dish in the house was dirty. You see, my brother lives with me, and he does a lot of cooking (I swear, he eats more than anyone in the house!). He always makes a huge mess, but he never bothers to clean it up. As a matter of fact, he doesn’t do much of anything around here. He does babysit for free, though, so I guess that makes up for it.

Now I just need to get the bedrooms cleaned. My room is awful. It’s the catch-all room in this house, and there is stuff everywhere. I need to take a day to go through everything and get rid of things I don’t need. The same goes for the girls’ room. They have more toys than they know what to do with, and they don’t play with half of them. I’m sure someone else could get some use out of them. I have the weekend off, so I’ll probably get to it then. I may even start on my room tomorrow, since I don’t have to work until 5 PM. We’ll see.

I still haven’t finished any of my knitting or crocheting projects. I only have a few more rounds to go on my niece’s blanket, so I should have it done in the next couple of days (if I ever find time to work on it, that is). I frogged the pomatomus sock, so that yarn is all ready for something else, but I still haven’t found the perfect pattern.  I made some good progress on the leg of my German flag sock at cheerleading practice today, but I still have a long way to go on it, and the mate to it after that. It’s likely to be Christmas before I finish.
